Very glad to hear that one of my all time favorite tag teams, Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo, are going into the HOF this year.

This will make Barry a 2 time HOFer as he went in with the 4 Horsemen several years ago, while Mike is going in for the first time.

Thought it would be a appropriate time to discuss this great tag team.

 Your thoughts on the team?

Great team in both the WWF and Championship Wrestling from Florida.   Both guys were young, hungry and motivated, the last one being something they wouldn't always be later in their careers.  I imagine Bo Dallas (Mike's son/Barry's nephew) will be inducting them.

I'm happy to see them go into the WWE HOF as a team. I enjoyed them as a team here in Florida.. Although Windham & Rotundo were a great tag team, they really weren't a team all that long though.. They started teaming a little in Florida in the last quarter of 1983. Teamed pretty regularly in Florida from February 1984 thru August 1984 and departed for Mid Atlantic where they teamed up some but not regularly and then a year in the WWF beginning October 1984 thru October 1985. They reunited  as a team in Japan for a month tour in early 1986 and made a one off appearance as a team at AWA WresleRock in 1986 and then just a couple times they teamed in Florida also in 1986.. Maybe I'm missing a few appearances as a team elsewhere but just not that long together as a regular tag team compared to some other famous tag teams like the Freebirds, Rock & Roll Express or Road Warriors. Then again, compared to other famous teams like Strongbow & White Wolf, Barry and Mike were a tag team much longer.

For those that think the WWE hall of fame is not a real hall of fame, just look at the emotion from Mike Rotundo throughout HHH's talk to them. Look at Barry's reaction towards the end. It is very much real. Wrestling has been like 40 years of their lives, maybe longer for Barry since he was a child of a wrestler.

I was just thinking it was odd they never cross paths much in their careers but I forgot they would have been in WCW in 1990 at least.

Thanks for the compliment. I have followed the baseball and football halls of fame for about 20 years and I see some flaws in their voting. It can be somewhat of a popularity contest not unlike what some say of WWE's hall. I really don't see how anyone can call the WWE hall fake or a sham versus those two halls. Some may say WWE is based on who is in good graces with Vince/WWE but in a few cases (Warrior, Graham and Bruno come to mind) those guys were not exactly in good graces but the bonds were repaired. WWE could have held out and never inducted those guys but they reached out and made it happen.

With all due respect Jason the WWE Hall of Fame is a sham. Not that some of the people in it don't deserve it. But it loses respect considering some of the names inducted(including non wrestlers). I agree that the baseball hall of fame has been watered down a bit over the years but at least the San Diego chicken is not a member.

Wrestling is a work as stated by the  former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment.

Imo The Hall of Fame was started as just another gimmick to sell tickets to a show to make money. And continues as such.

But not to the wrestlers who pour their heart and soul and bodies into the product every nite. Or to the fans who pour their screams into the ring.

If a wrestler is admitted based on his standing with the company, it doesn't say much for the HOF criteria or legitimacy
WWE is the only game in town and every wrestler wants admittance.

At least they have a show and speeches.   The Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame may be more prestigious but the inductees don't make any money off of it.

Respect to you too, Steve. I appreciate your response. Funnily enough, I was googling the San Diego Chicken earlier. Well, the Ted that plays or played him to be specific.

I think the baseball and football halls are just as much a sham. Case in point, Steve McMichael. Either he is or isn't worthy of induction over the last 20 some years. But since he's in the end stages of life and an induction means so much, his name has been thrown about and a bit of pressure has been put on the voters to induct him. He's been inducted but would they have felt the need to do so if not for his condition and possibly feelings of guilt? I love Steve and wish he can attend and enjoy as best he can. But the football voters are a sham, no less then WWE. It's how they feel at the time of voting. Same for baseball. If WWE is not legit, than neither are those two. It's all about how the voters feel at the time. Whose in good with the voters, how do they feel about candidates at the time.

I second the addition of Tony Garea and Rick Martel.  They were IMHO the closest thing
Backlund era WWF had to the Rock & Roll Express in terms of how over they were with the WWF fan base during their nearly 18 months as a team.

This is an induction that's well deserved.  But I honestly didn't think it would happen due to the passage of time. And except for AWA`s WrestleRock 86, and a few matches in Japan. Their run as a tag-team ended nearly 40 years ago, and both h men enjoyed success and won singles and tag team titles (with other partners) for several years after. Along with long list of other tag teams not yet in the WWE Hall of Fame (Demolition. Killer Bee's. Midnight Express.  And Money,  Inc.).
