In interviews, Bruno always dismissed his 80s comeback to the ring as something he did to help David and not something he was very invested in. That said, Bruno at 50% was as believable as Piper and Savage were at their peaks during those feuds. I'm not sure about the actual matches, but Bruno in Piper's Pit and Bruno attacking Savage during an interview still hold up well.

I started watching in December 1979 just as Bruno returned to semi regular wrestling vs Larry
His run from 1985-1987 is memorable for me

Bruno was retired by the time I started watching wrestling in 1982. These matches were my only chance to get to see him until the magic of youtube.
