I'm not sure how closely you follow the WWE, these days, but with all the controversey swirling around the recent angle involving the late William Moody (Percy Pringle, Paul Bearer), and given the fact that he and your father shared the same profession and likely knew each other, I can't help but wonder what you'd make of CM Punk and Paul Heyman's actions on the last episode of Raw. In case you haven't heard, Heyman was made-up to look like Bearer and entered the arena mocking him, and then Punk attacked 'Taker and emptied the contents of his urn all over the fallen Deadman. Moody's sons were said to be okay with this, and most in the wresting business see it as some bizarre form of tribute, but I can't help but to find it entirely distasteful. In my eyes, they're using Moody's real-life passing to sell pay-per-views. Some argue that it's Bearer who's the center of the storyline and not Moody, but it's a real thin line, there. And just because Moody's sons are okay with it doesn't mean that I as a viewer and a fan should be; it may just mean that the Moody boys are disillusioned, at best. Anyways, if you'd rather not answer due to the nature of the situation, I understand, but if you're at all familiar with what's going on here, how do you feel about it?

I think that Percy Pringle and Gary Hart were both in World Class in the fall of 1985

In answer to 1fall's post above, since when has good taste had anything to do with the WWE product? Not being snide. It's an honest question.

There's things that are done in bad taste, which WWE is no stranger to, and then there's this. A line was definitely crossed here, and I'd love to get Jason's take, as he is the son of another late, great and legendary pro wrestling manager.

I have seen whats been going on,i think it is in very very bad taste.i think that c.m. punk is weak at best, and cheap heat is the only kind he can get.and im really surprised that the taker has gone along with it..as far as percy's, sons me and chad's prayers are with them.they will be fine and they will see him again.

Thanks for your take on the matter, Jason. I really appreciate your insight, here. I'm also glad to see that you agree with me that the whole deal is in really bad taste, and that CM Punk isn't anywhere near as good on the mic or as a heel as he thinks he is. I'll be sitting-out this year's 'Mania, thanks to all this.

This. It's not just the WWE. How many times did World Class try to make money off tragedy?

we never mocked death,or used it as a way to get heat on someone or something.what wwe has done with this is prove beyond a shadow of any doubt that the brotherhood that once held those of us in the wrestling business together is long dead...but thats the way they want it..

A crazy angle
I think it is dumb of course. I remember heat was not in the form of mocking death but on emotional drawing. Oh and I met your father back in .2007verynice person and I took a pic with him. The Crue rules

Sure they did. Remember the Fritz heart attack angle? That was a disgrace.

In Jason's defense, while Fritz faked a heart attack, he didn't "die." The WCCW equivalent of what WWE and Punk are doing here would be if the Freebirds had dug-up one of the late Von Erich's bodies and desecrated it on live television. I respect your opinion, bucs, and I may be splitting hairs, but I don't see it as quite the same thing.

I get it, it's not exactly the same thing. I don't want to make it sound like I'm defending the WWE--I'm not. Just saying that this sort of thing has been going on for a long time. WWE may have taken it to another level of indecency with the bearer angle the other night, but they certainly aren't alone in bringing tragedy or death to the table and making an angle or trying to draw heat on it.

I hear ya'. And to your point, I feel as though what's being done with William Moody's death is really gonna cheapen things the next time a legendary wrestling personality passes away. I feel horrible for saying this, but after watching for over thirty years, I'm at a point now where I simply brush off the news of another wrestling death, myself. There's been so many deaths in wrestling over the last few years that cheap stunts like this only serve to take away the impact of the next one, and the one after that... Is that what WWE's attempting to do, in some twisted fashion?
