The book is good but take the stories with a grain of salt. Over the years several of the stories in the book have been debunked. I'm not going to list which ones here but the stories have been brought up on this board and on several podcasts.

It's available free as an ebook on the Mobilism book site. It's missing a chapter though, the Madison Square Garden chapter which leads to Gary's issues with Bruno.

I like Gary but his book is full of a lot of bullshit & he blames everyone for everything

I'm in the process of reading the online version... I'm on chapter 46 so probably 80% through it.... I wouldn't say BS per se because he is very opinionated but is definitely upfront about what his opinions are and he does acknowledge they are not always popular. The one odd thing though is he talks about all the territories that he was a manager in, and he treated his role as a manager as a shoot... Like he literally guided these guys careers and such as opposed to the the booker or promoter being responsible for the trajectory of the wrestlers careers.... perhaps his role as manager was more along those lines, unlike other managers who were simply characters and who had no say regarding the wrestlers they managed... if that's the case it is definitely unique.. not sure if it was accurate, but it definitely stood out as a theme throughout the book

Even though he was not booker in Dallas during his summer 1984 - fall 1985 run he did have creative control over the angles for his talent

The Gary Hart book is now on YouTube with someone reading it chapter by chapter. I think it is one of the best wrestling books out there. Very detailed. Great chronology. I missed Gary in the 60s and 70s because I was too young but I was introduced to him in 1981 on WTBS Superstation 17 and he was great with Kabuki and Piper. Then, we got World Class in 1982 on CBN and later another channel before getting it on ESPN. Then, I saw Gary in WCW in 1988 and 1989. His was one of the best minds in the business.
