I agree about the height thing. Yoko was barely 6 ft. tall. He was another guy who they'd have stand on platform to make him appear taller for promos.

He was the nephew of Afa & Sika and cousin to the Rock, Roman Reigns, and the Usos.

Amazing he was 6 ft tall. Because he was so heavy you don't think of him as being a short wrestler.

I had seen him on an independent show in 1990 and was right next to him and I was a few inches taller (I'm 6'3")... I was surprised because he had looked so big in the AWA photos in the Apter mags

He had some better moves than other super heavyweights. Had he stayed at 505 he might have had a longer and better career. Obviously like all big guys he needed great in-ring performers to make it work best.

PWI or PWI Weekly may have had it. But...obviously, that's not what BattleRoyal said.

I wonder how his life would have gone if he had come in as a Samoan family member/Headshrinker rather than Yokozuna. He was much bigger than Samu and Fatu but it was really the Yokozuna gimmick that had a basing around how big he was and how he kept getting bigger, eating more.
I liked the character but there was really only so much that could be done with him due to some of the nature of the gimmick being anti-American. You had to have a USA guy like Luger to play off him and Luger wasn't that good in the role.
If he wasn't feuding with Undertaker and he was no longer champ, there wasn't much of a role for him. He was in a throw away tag match at King of the Ring and didn't even make Summerslam. The tag title run I can't remember well but somehow I think Owen did most of the work. It was also a bad time for WWF in general so not too many great character he could feud with.
