It's great that Tito Santana and Greg Valentine had the longevity in the WWF. Always a good thing. But, I believe they stuck around too long and were taking up roster spots that could have been better utilized. There were some younger, up and coming wrestlers that could have filled those roles better. Anyway, just my observation.

Give us some examples of changes you would make and when you'd have them leave the federation.

Greg Valentine should have left by mid 1991. Tito Santana should have also left in that time frame. You could insert guys like The Patriot and Rod Price.

Valentine actually was still decent then and Santana was still one of the most interesting wrestler in the WWF then. So not for me.

Rod Price if memory serves had a couple dark matches on a set of WWF TVs in Texas and did not want to put over Demolition and word was is that pretty much closed the door on him ever being considered for a WWF Spot.
Tito and The Hammer were still credible workers.

Vince should have let Valentine go to the NWA in '87. He was beyond overexposed and still would have been useful over there. I guess Vince realized that and gave him a better deal to stick around and a renewed singles push in '88 when people were just tired of him.
Santana was still a credible wrestler and hadn't slowed down like Valentine had. Tito was the model WWF employee so Vince wanted to keep him as long as possible. The guy was responsible, on time, great worker, reliable.

Lots of folks seem to think Greg should have gone and Tito should have stayed
Greg was considered as a member of the Four Horsemen in 1987

Greg wanted to go, But Vince begged him to stay and team with the Honly Tonk Man. He has said in interviews he should have went to Crockett.

you need reliable hands with name recognition to get those younger guys over
that's what Greg and Tito did

They did a little bit of that. They still had respectable spots that I feel guys like Rod Price or The Patriot could fill just as well.
