I attended a couple of the free WWE Shotgun Saturday Night tapings in 1997 in NYC. This was Vince's attempt to do a live late night Saturday show. His own Saturday Night Live. I was at the show they did in Penn Station, in the Amtrak lobby underneath the Garden next to the escalators. I was nearby when Undertaker tombstoned HHH on the down escalator. I doubt Trips back has ever recovered. I also attended the show they did at Webster Hall in the East Village. Saturdays was disco night there. They had the disco ball and the fog machine and people were dancing around the ring. I got kicked out because I was wearing tennis shoes. Can't wear tennis shoes on a dance floor. Not many people can say they got kicked out of a wrestling show for wearing tennis shoes.  . But it was okay because I got to see Bret Hart out on the sidewalk. He had left the show right after his match. Poor Bret and his wife were trying to hail a Taxi. Which in the East Village late on a Saturday night is a lot easier said than done.

WWF part 1 as I attended a ton of shows during this era growing up in the northeast.
11/18/96 New Haven,CT Raw Taping. Bret vs Owen and Taker vs Mankind No Holds Barred were the top matches for TV. Dark matches were Vader vs Sid in a 2 minute match and the best match of the night HBK vs Austin.
11/19/96 Springfield,Ma Superstars Taping. Biggest matches were HBK vs Farooq and Taker/Sid vs Vader/Austin.
11/30/96 Lowell,Ma Heartbreak Express Tour. A really depressing show with a dead crowd headlined by HBK vs Goldust.
2/13/97 Lowell,Ma Thursday Raw Thursday. Bret vs Vader,Sid vs Austin and HHH vs Rocky were the big matches. This show was super fun live.
2/21/97 Durham,NH Houseshow. Taker vs Farooq in a cage and Sunny vs Marlena in an arm wrestling match.
3/10/97 Worcester,Ma 1st ever Raw is War. Main Event was Taker/Sid vs Vader/Mankind.
6/6/97 Lowell,Ma Houseshow featuring HBK/Austin/Sid vs Owen/Bulldog/Anvil in the main event.
8/16/97 Boston,Ma Houseshow featuring Bret vs Taker in the main event. Shamrock won a battle royal for a future title shot and HHH vs Mankind Falls Count Anywhere.
11/29/97 Boston,Ma Houseshow. Taker vs HBK was the main event. Austin/LOD vs Farooq/Rocky/Kama.
12/11/97 Lowell,Ma Christmas Raw Taping. Final match was Taker vs HHH in a casket match. HHH vs HBK for the European title main evented Raw.

6/9/97 Boston,Ma Nitro. 2 big matches were Luger vs Hogan and Outsiders vs Piper and Flair. This show was too much fun and the product felt so hot.
9/29/97 Worcester,Ma Nitro. Giant vs Henning was the main event. Kind of a nothing special show but still fun.
1/31/98 Boston Brawl IPPV. Big matches were Sting vs Hogan in a cage.

Benoit vs Guerrero
Steiners vs Raven and Saturn
Jericho vs Malenko
DDP/Luger/Zybysko vs Savage and The Outsiders
Super fun show with a stacked card. Show was delayed 2 hours because of a Bruins game that afternoon.
5/14/98 Durham,NH Thunder. Sting vs Savage plus Nash & Dusty vs Public Enemy.
5/18/98 Providence,RI Nitro. Did not realize this was only a one hour nitro very disappointing experience. Goldberg vs Glacier was the main event match while an nwo promo closed the show. They sent us home unhappy with a Luger vs Adams show closer.
9/21/98 Boston Nitro. Nash and Luger vs Giant and Stevie Ray was the main event. Pretty forgettable show but I got to go backstage because my dad knew someone that worked security at the fleetcenter. Met Miss Elizabeth,Heenan,Tenay,Schiavone,DDP,Kimberly and Giant. Everyone was super nice except for Schiavone and DDP who were total a holes.
1/7/00 Lowell,Ma House show. All the advertising was for Sting who no showed and was replaced by Meng who faced Luger. Sid vs Bret was a 3 second main event. Probably the worst show I ever attended until I went to an aew boston show a couple years ago.
2/2/00 Amherst,Ma Saturday Night taping with Sid vs Al Greene main eventing.

Very surprised that DDP was an a hole....never heard anyone say that about him before...maybe s bad night. Could you give details about ddp and schiavones actions?
Also why did bruins game delay the show? Werent they aware that a game was scheduled?or did it run long?

It might have just been a bad night for DDP and Tony but it stood out because everyone else we met was so nice. Kimberly kept apologizing to us on behalf of DDP. Tony was just super grumpy and abrasive. He was traveling with Penzer who he was ordering around and making him carry his bags.
There was delays changing over from the ice to the floor for the wcw event its always a risk running 2 separate events so close to eachother on the same day. Show started about 9pm.
Schiavone seriously made Penzer carry his bags? Well if that was on camera they could have worked it into an angle or something lol, unbelievable.

It was such a fun show and it seemed special with wcw promoting it for weeks on tv leading into it. But after it happened they never even mentioned it again. They even did angles on the show like Hall & Nash laying out Savage after the 6 man tag and then laying out Sting after the cage match.

Tony totally had Penzer carrying his bags like a total lackey. It was so funny how Heenan & Tenay were traveling together and could not have been nicer to us while Tony & Penzer traveled together Tony was super grumpy and Penzer just seemed like a sad little broken man.
