Beau James posited on a podcast that for whatever reason, Dusty or someone wanted rid of them and booked them that way on purpose, expressly trying to get them to quit.
I have a hard time believing that one. I think maybe that was just a false rumor floating around (at least I would hope so). The Russian Assassins became The Powers of Pain replacements lol.
What's hard to believe about it, and if it was a false rumor, where was it reported?
It is possible if Dusty (or someone higher up that had power over Dusty) was getting a paycheck from the WWF while working for JCP. Other than that, it seems so stupid that it is beyond almost all of my believability. The only exception would be some major personal grudge.
